Well, as you can tell I'm some what of a slow starter. So here goes. Life in Japan is quite interesting and will present you with tons of new experiences and challenges. The obvious is the language barrier. Most people speak a little English but don't let that fool you, there are still challenges. It would behoove you to get a language book for basic Japanese and a book on the culture. The second and probably the one issue that will cause you more headaches and turmoil is LIVING SPACE. Forget everything you know to be about small apartments and houses. The Japanese have the market cornered on this one.
Japan has 1/2 the population of the US. Japan is basically the size of California. Japan is 2/3s mountain and rock so that leaves 1/3 livable space. SO, you basically cram half the population of the US into a space the size of 1/3 of the state of California. You can imagine how that redefines small.
First day, more to follow.

My first blog
Well I figured there are so many people out there who just talk about any thought that hits their brain and outside of the literary value there really isn't anything to gain from it. SO, I figured I could blog about life in Japan and the things that are good to know before you get here; especially if you are planning to move here like my military brothers and sisters.
So, for all those interested I will start about my arrival and all the headaches that I had in finding a place and I will tell you what works and doesn't work in hopes that you find some benefit in my rants.
I may from time to time throw in a random thought here and there so bear with me.
